Emelina Law is a Plant Bruja, medicinal plant caretaker, community herbalist and educator who lives in the Mission District of San Francisco. Her work is rooted in Mexican Curanderismo, a healing art that has been practiced in the Americas for centuries.

Emelina’s practice is based on her connection to plants and the healing medicine they offer humans. She has found that gardening has helped her find her magic, connect to herself and care for her community.

Emelina launched La ChupaRosa Espinoza in 2023 after working as a bilingual Nationally Board Certified teacher in San Francisco schools for more than a decade. She offers summer camps and workshops for magical beings of all ages that teach people how to use plant medicine in daily life and garden in urban spaces. She has launched a product line including salves, flower essences, Agua Florida and others, bringing the medicine to the community that, for years, she had made for family and friends.

Emelina sources the majority of the plants in her medicine by growing them herself or foraging sustainably on public land. She uses plants that grow in abundance locally each season to make medicine that provides people what they need for the time of year.

La ChupaRosa Espinoza helps magical beings reconnect to the magic of the universe through ritual, practices and play rooted in nature. Our continued healing allows us to move towards supportive community that cares for the land that nourishes us.
