Fostering connections through plants and community.

Summer Camps

Camp La ChupaRosa is a Spanish-bilingual summer camp in SF for magical beings ages 6-10 who want to explore nature while learning to care for plant allies through play and hands-on learning. This is a unique camp setting that focuses on really going deep on topics around nature, art and magic in a small group setting by weaving rich, Waldorf inspired stories that honor plants' origin stories and invite children into a world of wonder and creativity. The cost for each week of camp is $650 with sliding scale, scholarship and payment plans available in order to make this offering more accessible.

Starting in 2023, Maestra Emelina decided to pursue her passion of gardening and teaching kids about the land where we live with Camp La ChupaRosa. Through summer camps she hopes to help the next generation reconnect to the earth through magic and play while learning reciprocity with the land. It is more imperative now than ever that we learn to take care of Mother Earth the way she takes care of us.

This summer we are excited to have Maestra Cristy joining our team. Her journey in education has been deeply shaped by a passion for social justice, diversity, and fostering learning across differences. Her teaching is inspired by the profound lessons we can learn from nature and the outdoors, and she’s guided by a commitment to honoring Indigenous ways of working in relationship with the land.

All sessions are max 10 students keeping the setting small to really allow us to go deep with concepts taught. Groups will be co-led by both Maestras Emelina and Christy each week. Maestera Emelina is a formerly Nationally Board Certified fully credentialed teacher with 13+ years of bilingual teaching experience in San Francisco Unified Schools. Maestra Christy is a dedicated educator with over eight years of teaching experience, including six years as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher in San Francisco Unified Schools and two years as a Waldorf teacher at Golden Bridges School. Together Maestras Emelina and Christy aim to cultivate an environment that nurtures connection—to each other, to ourselves, and to the world around us.
