This Curanderismo Essentials Kit has everything you need weather you’re just starting or have an already established practice around Curanderismo. Curanderismo is a healing arts tradition originating in the Southwestern US, Mexico and Latin America that has been alive for many generations. It uses plants and other elements found in our kitchens or homes as healing remedies for our body and soul.
This Kit gives you multiple tools to help protect your energy while also manifesting and healing yourself or your community. Complete with dried herbs needed to make your own Agua Florida, you’ll even get to practice your own potion making skills. Many of the herbs were locally wildcrafted and sourced by Emelina and what couldn’t be collected locally was sourced from local businesses in the Mission District of San Francisco. Sahumador
A sahumador, or copalero/popoxcomitl, is a clay vessel used for burning sacred incense and resins. The clay is heat safe, but can still get hot when burning charcoal and resins. For best practice be cautious of placing sahumador on flammable surfaces or place a bandana underneath to make moving it easier if the clay heats up. This size works well with alters in spaces or for traveling should you need.
Sacred Smoke Blend 2oz + Charcoal Briquettes
Includes a blend of native California sages, mugwort, and copal sourced by Emelina from Bacalar, Mexico. Designed for ritual or ceremony, this blend helps amplify and carry our intentions and words to the ancestral plane through its sweet and earthy smoke. To use, light a charcoal until sparking and place into the sahumador. Once the charcoal has turned partially gray, place a small pinch of incense blend on the hot charcoal and smudge yourself/space with the fragrant smoke. Ingredients: CA Sagebrush (Artemisia californica), CA Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris), Cleveland Sage (Salvia clevelandii), Copal oro
Faja
Fajas are spiritual tools used in many cultural practices for energetic and physical protection from outside energy. In curanderismo, woven belts or fajas are worn around the waist and belly button to protect our root chakra and contain our spiritual energy during ceremony and ritual work. Faja color may vary, each kit gets it’s own unique and beautifully vibrant color.
Pericón Flower Essence .5oz.
Flower essences are vibrational remedies that subtly help us to address root soul issues and rebalance them to find inner and outer harmony. Reconnect to your internal magic with pericón, also known as Mexican mint marigold or the Grandmother/Abuelita plant in curanderismo. Legend says that pericón taught all the other medicinal herbs their magical powers- she helps us to remember the magic we have to offer the world. Take 1-10 drops 1-3x daily or as needed.
Agua Florida Herb Kit
Includes all the herbs needed to craft a powerful Agua Florida. This floral and citrus water has been used in Mexico and the Southwestern United States for generations for energetic protection and cleansing. Spray it gently around the body ground yourself or in a room to clear stagnation. Add a splash to mop water to reset the energy in your home. Clear away negative energy and make way for healing, abundance, wisdom and joy.
Kit includes: Bay leaf, Citrus & Grapefruit peel, Cinnamon, Clove, Fennel seed, Lavender, Mexican mint marigold, Rosemary, Rose, Rose Geranium, Rue, Sage, Yarrow. Bonus packet of copal included for incense burning.
